I am a physicist with a background in single-molecule microscopy and single-molecule manipulation (magnetic and optical tweezers). Much of my work has focused on rotary biological motors such as F1-ATPase and the bacterial flagellar motor. I am interested in combining high resolution microscopy with quantitative biophysical models and simulations in order to unravel the physical mechanisms which govern molecular motors, bacterial motility, and biofilm formation.
